Taking Time to Care
45 years ago, Jack Scarola joined the late Brother Joe Ranieri sleeping on the steps of St. Ann’s Church and later helped him as he spent weeks living in a dumpster to call the attention of the community to the problem of homelessness and to solicit financial support.
Since the beginning days, his family and the team at Searcy, Denney, Scarola, Barnhart, and Shipley have been steadfast supporters of The Lord's Place and participants in the agency's various events--from Dumpster Days to SleepOut to this year's inaugural March to End Homelessness on Friday, February 28.

Through the remarkable generosity of so many--our friends, family, co-workers, law partners--what started as a very modest, storefront soup kitchen has now grown into a comprehensive and highly effective network of programs and housing campuses and serving more than 2,000 homeless men, women, and children this past year. The Lord's Place has made great progress in breaking the cycle of homelessness that victimizes far too many of our neighbors, but skyrocketing real estate costs in Palm Beach County are claiming new victims every day.
This year, our team will march through West Palm Beach to raise awareness of the countless individuals and families who struggle to find a safe and secure place to call home. In addition to raising awareness, the goal is to raise $350,000 to help local families, restoring their dignity by providing them the tools to achieve self-sufficiency and independence.
The first $10,000 raised through this team will be matched by Anita and Jack Scarola in order to double the impact of your participation. In addition, The Honorable Ann Brown is also matching every dollar donated, so your donation will actually be tripled! Your generosity will continue to make a difference in our community and beyond.
